On August 18, 2016, Posted by , In Selling Real Estate, With No Comments

I absolutely love living in Los Angeles. In fact, one of the few things I dislike about living here is the fact that when you live in paradise, it’s hard to find another place you actually want to visit for vacation…

With the end of summer fast approaching, many people are turning their sights to Labor Day and one last summer getaway. If you’re still looking for a spot to spend your last summer nights, have no fear – we’ve got you covered. My team and I have done a bit of research to come up with vacation spots that even a pampered Angeleno can enjoy. The following is our list of the top 5 Labor Day vacay hotspots for 2016.

Tyler Place Family Resort: Highgate Springs, VT

This 165-acre resort located on Lake Champlain offers a mix of adults-only, children’s, and family activities. Children’s activities are arranged in age groups ranging from infants and toddlers to teens. Tyler Place has been catering to families since 1933 with a wide variety of activities, including:

  • Rock climbing
  • Tubing
  • Nature walks
  • Golfing
  • Kayaking and canoeing
  • Tennis
  • Swimming

Adults can even enjoy gourmet farm-to-table meals and wine tastings.

The Otesaga Resort: Cooperstown, NY

This getaway is perfect for any baseball fan. You can visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and enjoy the resort’s family-friendly atmosphere featuring family bingo, lawn games, and lakeside activities. The resort offers special Labor Day weekend packages, and the festivities kick off with a Friday evening cocktail reception.

The Broadmoor: Colorado Springs, CO

This historic property offers a family Labor Day package that includes dining credits based on your length of stay, Jeep or horseback tours, discounts to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and more.

Skytop Lodge: Skytop, PA

This all-inclusive resort nestled in the scenic Pocono Mountains has been in operation since 1928. You can enjoy a round of golf while the kids enjoy the resort’s supervised children’s program. There are also plenty of family activities, including zip-lining, boating, biking, hiking, tennis, and archery. Labor Day weekend features a barbecue picnic and other special events.

Smugglers’ Notch: Jeffersonville, VT

Smugglers’ Notch offers summer packages through Labor Day weekend that give you access to the resort’s waterslides, pools, indoor fun zone, and other attractions. The holiday weekend will feature special highlights, including family challenge races, a bird of prey demonstration, and guided nature walks.

However you decide to spend the end of summer, I hope that you have a safe and fun Labor Day. Let me know your favorite vacation spots, or simply your favorite way to celebrate, in the comments below.
